About

I have fourteen years’ experience working in specialist NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). I now work solely in private practice and run One Space therapy rooms. During my time in the NHS I worked in numerous CAMHS services across North and South London, one of which was a specialist Under Fives service. I have extensive experience of assessment and treatment of young people with a variety of emotional, social, behavioural and developmental difficulties, including depression, anxiety and self-harm as well as young people with neurodevelopmental disorders. I have a wide range of experience offering short-term and longer-term support, including psychotherapy and parent work. I completed a Doctorate in Psychotherapy in 2014. My final doctoral thesis focused on Psychotherapy with Looked After Children.

The process of psychotherapy aims to support the young person to understand the underlying meaning behind their symptoms and behaviours. By building a strong therapeutic alliance, we are able to safely think together and the young person can begin to understand themselves and their emotions. I hope to enable young people to gain clarity, emotional resilience and a stronger sense of identity.

Specialist interest:

I have substantial experience working with adolescents and a specialist interest in working with young people age 16-25. I am particularly interested in developmental trauma and working with looked after children and post adoption work.
