About
I am a qualified Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist with fifteen years experience working in specialist NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). I trained at the Tavistock Clinic and am a registered member of the Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP). I provide psychotherapeutic assessments and treatments for children and young people experiencing a wide range of difficulties with their mental health, emotional well-being and behaviour. As well as offering individual psychotherapy for the child or young person, I support parents and consult with schools. My experience includes working with looked after children and adolescents, anxiety and depression, trauma, attachment difficulties, challenging behaviours and loss. I also understand the complexities of neurodiversity and how the everyday challenges faced by neurodivergent young people can affect their mental health. I work flexibly and adapt my approach to meet the needs of each child and young person, taking into consideration their individual differences and background. My practice is inclusive and neuro-affirming.
Specialist interest:
Prior to training as a child psychotherapist, I was a qualified primary school teacher. Drawing on my experiences in the classroom and therapy room, I have developed a special interest in working with primary aged children whose underlying emotional needs are impacting their behaviour, learning and relationships.
